All Commanders Games Will Be Aired Live In San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – JANUARY 7, 2019 – The Alliance of American Football’s San Antonio Commanders have announced ESPN San Antonio 1250 AM/94.5 FM KZDC as their official radio partner. The agreement allows every Commanders game to be heard over the airwaves in San Antonio and at ESPNSA.com.
ESPN San Antonio’s The Blitz co-host Jason Minnix will serve as the play-by-play voice of the Commanders.
All 10 San Antonio Commanders regular season games and potential postseason games will air on ESPNSA 1250 AM / 94.5 FM. Each home game will be preceded by a two-hour pregame show broadcast live from the Alamodome’s H-E-B Plaza, while road contests will have a 30-minute pregame show. Both home and road games will be followed by a half-hour postgame show, featuring head coach Mike Riley and Commanders’ players.
ESPN San Antonio is proud to join with the Commanders and The Alliance of American Football in it’s inaugural season. As the official radio partner, ESPN San Antonio is eager to play a vital role in the partnership between the Commanders’ players, fans and sponsors.
In addition to game broadcasts, pregame and postgame shows, the partnership includes a weekly show featuring Commanders’ head coach Mike Riley.

Jason Minnix – Play-By-Play Announcer
Jason Minnix has been a San Antonio radio voice for more than twenty years, the last 11 as an afternoon drive talk show host on ESPN San Antonio.Minnix is an experienced play by play announcer having called high school football on radio and television since 1997. Minnix has also done play by play for the San Antonio Talons of the Arena Football League, Incarnate Word football in 2011 and UTSA basketball on radio and television. He has covered the San Antonio Spurs on a regular basis since the year Tim Duncan was drafted. Minnix has also covered all of the biggest, major sports events in San Antonio over the two decades. In addition, he has covered the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, Longhorns, and Aggies, as well as major sporting events including Super Bowls, NBA All Star games, MLB All Star Games and NCAA Final Fours. Minnix was named “2017 Best of” in the radio personality category by the San Antonio Current and twice been awarded the San Antonio Express News Readers Choice Award for best local radio personality/team.
