The NBA Play-In Tournament

The NBA Play-In tournament begins tonight.

I still don’t know if I like it but I can’t wait to watch the games tonight – the 7-8 matchups – Brooklyn vs Cleveland in the East and the Clippers vs the TWolves in the West (Both games on TNT)…the winners tonight get the 7^th seed, the losers get the winners of the 9-10 matchups tomorrow night.

I do like the March Madness feel of the play-in tournament and the NBA has to be thrilled that teams like the Nets, Clippers and Hawks have a chance to win their way into the playoffs (and I am sure Adam Silver and the TV suits are pissed that a team like the Lakers couldn’t even make the top 10).

I do think this is better than expanding the playoffs. Eight for each conference is enough. I am still lukewarm on the idea because I don’t think you get star power in these games every year like we are getting this year.
